  PnP. We were surprised by how well this bottle of 11+ year old Syrah held up. It was well balanced and a bit "soft" in the way that all of the components blended over those years. The color was a dark purple to a watery rim. The nose put forth dark red fruits, which followed through to the medium bodied palate, along with some spice and pepper, and a touch of minerality. The acidity was nicely balancing, and the tannins were completely integrated. For best results this wine should probably be enjoyed within the next year or so.

  Took a while to open up, but turned out very nice example of Syrah. Mild spicy, smoky, anise flavors, not tannic, smooth on the finish. Excellent bottle of wine from a great vineyard.

There is clearly a pleasant perfume underneath with hints of violets and black fruit. Clearly needs time to integrate the wood better which I think it will given the concentration of the wine. The palate is velvety with smooth sweet tannins, a voluptuous mouthfeel and a pleasant finish.
