Thoroughly enjoyable village Chardonnay. A few years into its life, it still has very pleasing acidity -- think green apples and quince. But its most notable flavor is an umami flavor, tasted up front and focused on the mid-palate. I almost want to say grilled poultry. Might not sound nice, but it makes for a well-rounded wine that has the finesse of a Burgundy but also something just a little more ... fauve.
