- Crimsom color - Picked up a bottle on sale for $20. Light crimson color on appearance. Aromas are as delicate as one would associate with a barolo - violet, rose petals - all there. Sweet smell all around. Taste is very subtle, flavors of cherry and licorice first, followed by the tannic bite. Medium finish with a slight dry mouth sensation that says bring on the marbled lamb. For the price this is a A+wine in my book. What else can one want? - a sub $20 wine from Piedmont that drinks well now and can be aged further. I will be buying more.
