Backyard Party (Fremont, CA): Pale ruby color with no bricking; nose has cherry and strawberry fruit with some slight earthy complexity; palate is light bodied, some light tannic structure, good cherry fruit; finish is short-medium length. (12%) 100% Pinot Noir – Fresh, mineral streaked, wild strawberry flavors that show warm, dark cherries towards the mid-palate. The acidity remains present throughout turning almost dry and crunchy on the finish. Likely not for most (lean and racy) but a whole lot to like (backed by nice fruit) here at the price point ($10) from my perspective. Better than many of the Bourgogne offerings I've had and lighter on the wallet as well...
