  • Nice age. Rich. Works well and not your normal tasting dessert wine. Nice alternative for dessert

  • Non-blind. From glass-btl at Restaurant Ernesto in Kalmar (Sweden).
    Golden yellow.
Nose is oxidized and not particularly interesting.
On the palate this is medium sweet, overly oxidized and ... not so interesting. On the verge of being a mediocre Vin Santo, but retorting with some kind of M-- sized fruit. Not at all recommendable for QPR.
Married the desert well (Pannacotta - a large amount of wines would do it better).
The restaurant served a rather dehydrated (desert style, thready, chewy, sinewy) fillet of pork but the other courses of the menu were quite over par. The restaurant's wine-list is unexpectedly GREAT . . . as are the prices. (Any restaurant that lists Vigna La Rosa is automatically a favorite of mine, even if its at the unbuyable level of US$210.)
