  • A blend of Petit Verdot (66%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (34%) from Doc Stewart Vineyard on the Wahluke slope. Aged in 100% new French Oak for 22 months.

Rousing blueberry, loganberry, nutmeg spiced currants, wild bay leaf and a smear of balsamic reduction aromatics. Continued to open up with scents of basalt and floral notes, not unlike violets and a snippet of daphne. Emanates sophisticated elegance on the palate. Presents with a solid foundation of sculpted minerality, bright fruit acids, earth and structure: slate, flint, red fruit, cassis, black currant, bitter chocolate bark, argil, leather, tobacco and toasted spices. Slightly drying and plenty of bitter tightly wound tannins; polished with lift on the unfolding finish. Continued to evolve over 4 hours.
    Compelling!

93+ with potential for 95 given several more years of cellaring.
