  • Good.

    Clear, medium-deep, ruby.
Clean, medium, fully developed nose of black currant and bramble.
Dry, medium (+) acid, medium fine but grippy tannins, medium (+) alcohol (14%), medium bodied, and with medium intensity flavours of oak, chocolate and blackberries. Medium length, and a little out of balance, with the acid and alcohol (odd mix?) somewhat overwhelming the middling intensity of the flavors and hollow nature of the body.
Drink now, I am not sure this could improve with further aging.

This is a good wine, with no faults, some pleasant structural elements and a variety of primary and secondary flavours. Ultimately though, the balance issue sighted above, and perhaps caused by it being a little too old, holds it back from a higher rating.

    Screwcap, INAO tasting glass
