Retains deep color with red fruit on the nose and palate. Medium bodied on the palate with a long and pleasant finish. Nearing the end of it's prime drinking interval. I have one more bottle - will drink soon.

This needed an hour of air to really show well but was showing mature, developed red fruit with earth and some green notes. Better with food than on it's own, and overshadowed by an '02 Grivot Exch next to it (not fair...). Enjoyable now and without a history with this wine I would be drinking now. A-

An interesting aged pinot with alluring saline and savoury traits, it really has evolved into a tertiary phase with what’s left of the faint red fruits fading. It really did work well on the night, however, but I suspect we got lucky and I would not push my luck if I had several of these. When you find out what this costs (upwards of £60 per bottle) assuming you could find it, red burgundy suddenly does not look such poor value for money.

Savoury and smoky. Really dry and surprisingly quite tannic in fact. Remarkably so considering the age. "All structure and no fruit" said a tasting companion. Somewhat forbidding and austere but an accomplished wine.

North London TWS Tastings series: South Africa (Must and Lees, N1) (Must and Lees N1): Nose with a hint of smoke, crunchy but also bruised red plum and raspberry.
On the palate good intensity and still good acidity. Rather nice.
