Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 90 points

  • Medium dark purple, fairly opaque, at the core; tending to brick at the edges. Attractive but fairly muted nose of dark cherries, maybe even cherry sherbet. A touch of something sweet? Is it liquorice? No, I think it's vanilla. On the palate, little appreciable tannin - in this respect it is miles away from another powerful red that the aromas remind me of - Priorat. There's acidity for freshness, and good length. A very well made wine, but I feel its age is starting to show in a slight tiredness, not balanced by any great complexity. In future I will aim at a drinking window of about five years rather than ten. 14.5%, screwcap.

  • £20
Leather, oranges, herbs on the nose - very Southern Rhone
    Ripe fruit, savoury, more herbs
SOme grip, tannins nice and ripe though
This is really good. Good price too. Comparable to something from S. Rhone.
