Tasted it on expromt degustation with fellows. Decanted around 2 hours which is a bit too much imho. Nice and silky, loaded with black fruits, some black currant jam, spice, tobacco. Smooth tannins. Good wine and nice experience. Low point is that I don’t see it at the asking price level of $250 or even $450 asked by importer locally. $90-100 would be honest price level for me.

Notes maybe not to be trusted on this one! About the 6th wine consumed on NYE. 18 months since my last bottle, and I'm coming down a point or three on my last score. This is still a fine wine in every aspect, but it's in between stages a bit. Lost, is the big bold primary fruit stage and it's not quite in that perfect secondary stage yet. Dark fruit with well integrated tannins and acidity. It's developed a hint of camphor/pine needles on the back end. Cedar has receded. A very nice wine that is evolving. Another one leaving it's big Cali fruit bomb past just a bit.
Had a bottle of this 2-3 years ago, couldn't forget how it tasted. Wanted more, came across a few bottles at auction, had to have them.....Heidi Barrett has crafted a superb cab here. Beautiful pencil shavings/cedar/floral nose....dark ruby in the glass, clean with soft tannins and no sediment. Awesome black/red fruit/cassis and a certain softness to the whole overall experience. Nose improves and strengthens with air and all the feminine softness and power remains. So glad I got more of this! Acidity can go on for quite a few more years.....kudos to Ms. Barrett.....a killer wine that is aging beautifully.

I was lucky enough to pick up a bottle of this for around $75 at auction. Opened as I was cooking the ribeye so it only had about 15 min of air before we sat down to eat. Big, bold black fruit, but not jammy. Nice cedar, well integrated tannin on the back end. Lengthy finish. A deep, multi layered and complex wine. I don't know that I could or would pay the asking price at the winery of $250/bottle but this drank way better than a $75 bottle! Wish we had more........
