Chambolle 1er Blends (Chicago + Zoom): A delightful and appealing aroma of earthy, dusty, mature black cherry with mushroom, dried florals and dried herbs. The palate is similarly complex if a little lacking fruit weight in the mid-palate (hardly a flaw in a 43 year-old wine). Ethereal, long finish.

In a great place right now. Smooth balanced flavors of cherry and plum. Has the '78 signature orange tang flavor but not to an excess - just in the right amount. Good long finish. Very enjoyable. Only critique would be that it is a little simple, but otherwise very nice.

Woodland Hills: Dark amber color; lots of sedimenbt, licorice, caramel, spice, apple pie, cinamon, later got plenty of cherry; very soft, t’s dropped out, fine, elegant. Tasty and old w/complex flavors.

Chambolle-Musigny "Declassified" 1er Cru Tasting (Chicagoland IL): Library release. Charming Old School, well aged Burgundy with enticing earthy aromas, but slightly short in the middle. And hints of red cherry. Color and fill were great.
