  • It's interesting revisiting wines a younger me thought were amazing, that 10 years later, I feel are barely drinkable. Sextant is a pretty archetypal example, and because of that, the bottles I still have have stuck around for quite a while longer than I'd planned.

But it's good that they did. This needed 10 years to come around. Though I'd definitely describe this as almost-off-dry, there's also a bit of mushroomy earth now showing and even a spine of minerality. Maybe that's what attracted me to these? Dare i say, it's even balanced, in a way, and is nice with spicy chili.

    Fun trip down memory lane.
