- Garnet color and aromas of oak, bacon, soy sauce and black pepper. It's in total harmony and has flavours of blackberry and oak with a medium/full body. Smooth texture with a long finish.

Such a delicious wine for the price. It's showing age now, and I feel it's time to consume now as its boy going to keep much longer. It opens up after 5-10 mins, the tannins settle down. Hints of tobacco, black licorice, and spice are present but not over powering. It has a smooth finish. I've had an entire case of this vintage, and strongly recommend using a Vinturi as there is a lot of sediment. Even using the Vinturi as a filter, you will still get a good bit of sediment. Be careful when opening the bottle not to jar it around too much as you don't want to get the sediment moving. Castello always proves to be a great quality wine that you can cellar or drink right away in my eyes. E.W 89

A little past its prime but still nice and smooth. was probably a 91 pointer in its day. Had with venison medallions very good.

very dry, and a bit tannic, but went well with the Flank Steak. Dark fruit, earth - still holding up nicely. Could probably go another couple years.
