Wow. From the moment you pour this single vineyard Yarra Valley Chardonnay and see the vivid golden green hue, you know this is pure class in a glass! And to think, 2011 was one of Giant Steps poor vintages because it was so wet!
Freshly cut apples, citrus fruits, apricots and melon mix beautifully with a strong line of butter and a touch of toasted almond, minerals and kerosene. The palate is round, warm and lifting, following these magnificent flavours. And the finish is full, with a fine buttery and minerally backbone that lingers an age. Such balance. And so much more to come. Try again in 2yrs time. A Wozza 95/100 (4.2/5.0) from me.
