  • Aged Tempranillo-based wines - Virtual wine tasting (Skype): Wine 5 of 7: Medium to dark garnet colour. Dark fruit, espresso, spices, dill, and light herbaceous notes, with medium-level acidity, partly resolved tannin, and very good length. Good concentration. Well-balanced and smoothly textured.

More intense and on the herbaceous side on day two. Intense and very concentrated, and very integrated on day three.

Still has upside potential. Drink now, or over the next 10+ years. 92+ for now.

  • Opaque and dark maroon showing oxidation. I would recommend decanting. The nose was pronounced red fruits with dried strawberry, tobacco, raisin and mint. This was a lovely wine in the mouth. Full acidity through out the profile and tannins that were still demonstrable. They needed to be because this wine has a long profile of concentrated fruit.

  • Very nice nose of sour cherries, cedar, leather. More sour cherry on palate. Good body, tannins integrated by now, acidity a bit off. Not great, but interesting.

  • Very interesting nose, dominated by cedar but also some dust and leather. Good body and mouthfeel. Sour cherry on the palate, almost no tannins left. Has held up well for 15 years, but acidity is out of balance, making it too sour. Definitely an interesting wine. Apparently lots of bottle variation, as a friend had a bottle which smelled strongly of soy sauce.

  • Quite dark for a 14 year old wine. Aromas were innitialy not very pleasant: old wood, rubber and some vanilla and caramel. Taste was decent with hollow mid-palate and still strong, drying, grainy tannins. After 2-3 hours it opened up into more licorice and vanilla on the nose and fuller more pleasant medium bodied taste with tannic finish. 87pts after long decant. It was best after a long decant and it did not improve on the second day.
