First time i consciously try an Italian Syrah. The last Syrah i had was a Cote Rotie (Jasmine) which was soft, gentle and with tender and modest very mild anf elegant fruit. This one is very different. At first a raw but crisp tone kicks in before the tannins - despite its age - take control over, hard and drying out almost the entire mouth. Then spicy or spice feelings - very interesting and rough. After its disappearing not a lot of nuances, here and there a hunch of the gentle modest fruity Syrah appears, but just on the last note. Parker gave it 93, i think that is stretching it. But a nice wine. The color shows some aging, the taste not so much.

Showing mainly black fruits, spices and a rather important amount of wood, that is just not over the top. A medium+ acidity brings freshness. Still in its drinking window but I would advice to not hold this much longer. But a nice showing of Syrah in Toscana.

Dark ruby red. Aromas of black currant, curred beef, ripe cherry, tobacco. In the mouth it is firm and dense with taste of black fruits and dark chocolate. Persistent finish. Still very young.

Opened to a funky and alcohol nose with dank flavors that finished bitter, tight and tannic.
Over an hour it blossomed. Floral, sweet, aromatic nose with a core of dusky cherry. The palate follows through with a balance of raisin, plum, cherry flavors. The cherry dominates, with some bold acidity late palate. Still some tight tannins, and I bet it could sit in the cellar for another 5 years.

Tasty wine. Cherry, berry, spice. With a dry, mineral finish. Great pairing with the herbal, rack of lamb
