Community Tasting Notes (6) Median Score: 92 points

  • Light gold. This was a very good bottle. Still clean and bright.Citrus, honeydew melon, bit of less ripe pineapple. Some white nuts. Lovely balance and elegance, great acidity. But with depth and concentration. Drinking well now. Very fine.

  • Tasted blind – Ripe tropical fruits, yellow tree fruits, hints of age. A sappy white Burgundy showing some heat on the palate. Decent winemaking but nothing profound. 2015/2016? Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot? I would drink up sooner than later. (84/100)

  • Bottle 1: At PnP; Dark yellow almost beige color; just like apple juice. At first sight I feared it was flawed, which the first nose also indicated. But then; not really flawed … it´s just “over the top” like. White sherry in the nose. Ripe pineapple on the palate and a very dull finish.
After 1-2 hours; Just faded away. Bad bottle!

Decided to open another bottle from same lot to compare and to judge.

Bottle 2: At Pnp; Ripe yellow, but significant more lighter and “alive” than bottle 1. In the nose orange peel and fresh pineapple. On the palate very complex starting with green apple, honey melon, orange and notes of nuts toward the finish. Ending in a long finish with blood orange and a long, very pleasant acidity. Wow, this is great!
After 1-2 hours; Same notes as at PnP but more vibrant and a longer finish. Some grapefruit bitterness in the last finish now. This is great burgundy white. Just as I like it. This (representing bottle 2) will probably develop more complexity over next 5-10 years, but I personally like to drink it now, enjoying the acidity freshness here. 93P

Have now one bottle left from this lot. Hope it is similar to the “bottle 2” above!

  • Bound up by a little sulphur, really tight and compact but seriously good. Smells of white peach, green melon and spice. Oak is well judged and it has good shape in the mouth with a piercing mineral spine. Length of flavour is excellent.
