Not rating this because I may have had an off bottle. Ample blackberry and cherry fruit were masked by a fairly severe case of funkiness that would not blow off. If it weren’t for that, this would have been a terrific value.

P 'n p. Very closed at first, but in an hour it has opened up. Smells like mixed red and black fruit, white pepper, and softer notes of flowers, anise, and earth. Tart and juicy Bing cherry and cranberry sorts of fruit are foremost on the palate. Then some flowers, spice and earth come in, and finally limestone minerality. Some length, with lingering fruit skin, spice, and limestone. Not exactly exciting, but fairly enjoyable and a decent value at $21. Best with food. Comes across as delicate, as well as maybe closing down - probably best to drink this up.

Dinner at Home (Fremont, CA): Pale ruby color; nose has more intensity than the cote de beaune-villages, a bit more dark black fruits, more density on the nose, some slight smokiness; palate is light bodied but has excellent structure and heft (light integrated tannins), great fresh mouthwatering acidity throughout, primary red cherry fruit; medium length finish. This is an excellent entry level burgundy: balanced, fresh, some depth, and just a hint of something more interesting to keep me engaged. Ready to drink now. 88-89

Brilliant ruby / velvet hue, deeper than expected. Quite intense and vibrant notes of raspberries, cherries, some herbal / savoury tones evident. Robust mouthfeel, with loads of concentrated red fruits, silky tannins, savoury notes and a mid finish. A very pleasant wine indeed at this level.
