  • Rich and expressive, the nose is full of balsamic edged redcurrant aromas that are complemented with scorched earth, beef blood and some floral notes. Although the oak is quite apparent on the palate, especially in the form of coconut, the ripe, rich and succulent flavors of raspberry are more than enough to accommodate it. Very modern, velvety and almost sweet in nature, it is a very easy drinker.

  • Delicious. Complex and flavorful - needed some time out of the bottle first, though.

  • Nose: A lot of cherry liquor mixed with sour cherries and fried mushroom.
Some oak and tar from an old stable as well.

Attack: Oak tannins and sour cherries not much.

Midpalete: Here the flavors blossom. Salmiac and sour cherries. Very acidic and alcoholic. Dry and tannic. Some underlying flavors of tobacco and oak. A wine that you match with food at this point. Too acidic and dry.

Finish: Long, acidic and dry. Sour cherries and oak.

This wine is a good value barolo but nothing special. 90- since it´s young and will develop för another 5 years. Otherwise I would rate it 89.

  • Vermilion colored, tendings towards brick at the rim. This asserts itself immediately, with a great olfactory bouquet of forest, barnyard and spice drawer aromas. Full and dense on the palate, with the juicy flavors balanced against dusty notes more similar to the nose and wonderfully chewy tannins. An excellent, nuanced expression of this style, drinking marvelously right now.

  • nose: There is a good red fruit core to this with tones of berries, cherries, roasted herbs, roses and red fruits. It isn't the deepest nose, but the aromatics are nicely balanced

taste: Medium bodied with medium/high acidity and some chewy tannins. The structure isn't as big as it sounds though with nice tones of red fruits, berries, cherries and some roasted herbs.

overall: This is a really nice barolo for around $25. It doesn't bring layers of depth, but it does have a nice charm to it.
