  • Very solid for a "supermarket-wine". Brick-colored with a dark, saturated core but thinning out towards the rim. Clean and fruit-driven nose (second day had a bit of funk in there but nothing really bad). To my surprise both grape varieties are clearly noticeable in the wine with the Grenache adding warm fruit and the Shiraz peppery notes coming out towards the finish. No generic artificial berry aromas here as it is often the case with these mass-produced bottles from the supermarket shelves. Of course it lacks complexity, depth and a decent length in the finish, but it at least reflects the grape varieties correctly which is hard to come by at this price range and production numbers these days.
