  • This was great, again. But confirms my opinion that this is an early drinker for the most pleasure. Even now, fruit is fading a bit and revealing some slightly bitter tannins. Obviously you could try for a longer window and let this shut down, but the fruit is too good to pass-up (IMO). Great stuff and just got the 2011 Agnos today; looking forward to drinking them.

  • Pnp. Nose was barnyard and dirty diapers, horse tails. That blew off revealing a fantastically aromatic wine of lavender, violates, all kinds if flowers, Christmas baking spices and blue fruit. Palate showed nice mouth feel with good acids blue flavors, more Christmas spice, and flowers with slight glycerin textures and only mild tannin. Finished long. Fantastic.

  • The 1st btl tried in Dec,2012 wasn't like this at all. Must be Corked or oxidized. Unlucky... Hope next btl won't be...

  • If I had tasted this blind, I would never have guessed Mourvedre. Pinot, perhaps? But absolutely in the House style. High acid, sharp fruit, lush mid-palate. Really a hedonistic and delicious wine. Food friendly and a very non-traditional take on Mourvedre. I would never have thought that the fruit would have a forward quality - always think of it as a heavier grape with flat fruit and cottony tannins. Not here. Delicious, but a relatively near-term drinker. 2-5 years.

  • Such a beautiful nose. I can sit here and smell this all day. Purple-y delicate flowers (violets, maybe a hint of lavender), dark berries... super aromatic. On the palate, dark berries and lighter fruits show, with hints of dark chocolate and some of that oak influence (vanilla, a bit of baking spices). Unfined and unfiltered but shows very clean and clear in the glass... I wonder how many times this has been racked!

Cons: a tad hollow on mid-palate and not too much of a finish, also slightly lacking in structure (acid is basically there but could use a little more tannin to balance with the overabundance of aromatics).

That said though... this was gorgeous. Probably won't last forever; thank god, cuz I don't need another wine to cellar. It's great to have something that drinks fantastically fresh from the winery.
