  • I agree with my tasting notes of the past 3+ years, delicious, at peak right now !!
A perfect cork after over a decade in the bottle. Consumed over two days. This balanced wine opened up quickly. On day two the fruit was still fresh, this elegantly balanced wine had softened to reveal increased depth and integrated complexity. Dark red color with modest oxidation, with medium clarity. Aromas of black cherry and raspberry. Flavors of black cassis, cola, raspberry framboise, and leather, reminiscent of a great Brunello. This Sangiovese has a beautifully long finish. A balanced and flavorful fruit from the Rattlesnake Hill in the Home Ranch Vineyard north of Gyserville in Sonoma County. A great source and another great winemaking effort by Ted Seghesio. This age worthy wine has more years of life left. I still have two bottles of this vintage remaining and will revisit again soon to confirm my rating.

  • This bottle showed much better than the first one a few months back. Not very steely structure but still together with ripe fruit wrapped in softened tannins. Acid mius with medium length and pleasant finish.

  • Sweet fruit, acid minus. Has lost the oomph; past peak.
