color: purple velvet; faintest notes of earthy mustiness x oak; taste: light-to-medium-bodied mouth feel, lean licorice taste, medium-length finish with notes of black pepper and anise; overall: adequate but ordinary Old World pour, probably a good pairing for take-out (Whole Foods roast chicken, Pizza Hut, etc.), tasty enough and well priced ($7/bottle) for serving at those myriad budget-on-a-shoestring receptions and parties

A solid Bordeaux house wine. It won't blow you away and it's ready to drink right now. It offers some pleasant subtleties for a bargain wine. It's reminiscent of Château de l'Estang 2008. For under $8 it represents solid QPR.

A very solid everyday wine. Great QPR. A good blend of grapes with none of them taking a dominant position. Somewhere in between a new world Californian wine and a traditional Bordeaux.

QPR is good, but it's everyday table wine for a simple meal at best.
