  • Very interesting trying a Cumières Rouge from the 1970s, and very interesting to find it still showing so well and perfect tonight together with confit de canard and rhubarb chutney!

Joseph Perrier Cumières Rouge Coteaux Champenois -NV (base year 1970s, 100% Pinot Noir) Very light red colour with lots of sediment in the bottle with a lovely mature nose showing spicy strawberries, minerals and wet soil in a lovely way. Despite its age, it's still holding together showing a refreshing acidity with soft tannins and fine fruit that still hasn't dried up. A very light and fragile palate with a refreshing taste of raspberries. Interesting to try this old wine.
