  • Deep golden color. The nose is round and exudes a honeyed richness; there are touches of mushroom and a patina of botrytis. The first sensations in the mouth are a smooth mouthfeel and a bit of sweetness. The palate is mellow, rich, and smooth, providing sweet, soft fruit and minerality on the finish. If this wine ever had any sharp edges time has worn them to sand. I'm amazed by how long these Austrian whites can go; that said, a bit of acid and liveliness would be an improvement. 25 euros from the cellars at Winzer Krems.
