  • The two years since my last tasting have quite obviously done the wine some good, as this bottle is singing. I guess it is pretty safe to say, that this is at it its peak right now and will hardly get any better than in this very moment while I am sitting here, lost in its beauty. The nose is a barrage of warm and ripe dark berry fruit: blackberries, black currants and plums mixed with juniper berries, laurel and faint tobacco notes. The palate shines in perfect harmony with silky smooth tannins, brilliant black currant and blackberry fruit as well as some well-integrated peppery spice towards the long finish. Oh, beautiful Rhône valley...

  • B-I-G wine, but still very tight at the moment. Already a bunch of wild berries on the nose as well as some leather. Mouth is packed with spice and tannins for days. This probably needs at least another 1-2 years to calm down or some serious decanting.
