Well made super Tuscan. Cabernet dominates and alcohol of 15% makes this more new world than Italian but there is an old world minerality that permeates the nose and the finish. Very well done and drinking nicely at the moment.
Super fine tannins. Excellent depth of flavor. This wine is definitely best with food; the oak is exquisitely integrated and soft: it manifests as lively presence in the background. Multifaceted and lively it practically jumps around your mouth. Synesthesia description: electronic music: (think massive attack - mezzanine) Waves of Vibrations. An excited hum of varying oscillation frequencies sets the stage (the oak) above which there are three independent harmonies (the main grape varieties) which periodically come together slowly to synchronize and pulse for a few glorious moments leaving you wishing for it to come up on you again. Balanced, Muscular, Potent, Enthralling. An awesome concert in your mouth.
Popped, let stand and then poured gleefully. A common garnet, then ruby rim. Milk chocolate, cherry licorice, plumeria and smoked apple wood. Velvety on the long finnish, then focused and intricate. So engulfing. Drink 2015 - 2025.
Open just a few minutes but great right off the bat. Cherry vanilla nose. Fruit and jam. Leather and cedar. Some sweetness balanced with bright acidity. Softening tannin on finish. I enjoyed this very much.
