  • BLUEBERRIES AND BLACKBERRIES IN THE NOSE WITH CHERRIES, RASPBERRIES, AND A HINT OF EARTHINESS IN THE FLAVOR. MEDIUM LENGTH FINISH.

  • This intense, inky Merlot is a real blockbuster with loads of chewy, blackcherries and berries in the taste and great legs in the glass.

  • Should've read my prior note. This was a mess. Huge oak/alcohol/fruit bomb, but in a bad way. Absolutely no delineation in the flavors -- totally monolithic and over the top. Tried the second half of the bottle on day 2, and while it had tamed down a bit it still was poor. I mean, there's flavor there, but it's totally nondescript, and completely lacking in varietal characteristics. Am I getting less excited about this style, or had this one just fallen apart?

  • Medium/dark ruby color. Right out of the bottle, huge nose. Clumsy on the palate, however, with massive extracted fruit and chocolate falling all over each other. Very noticable heat/alcohol as well. There's lots going on, but it's kind of a mess: 88.

After 5 hours of air, however, this is singing. Black cherry and dark chocolate on the nose. Palate is dark and fruity as well, with very pure flavors, though there's still a hint of warmth and it's perhaps a bit one-dimensional. Very hedonistic at this point, and quite enjoyable in that unique B&H way: 93. Next time remember to DECANT AGGRESSIVELY.

  • I agree with Parker completely on this wine.
