It had been five years since I drank the first of my three bottles. It poured dark ruby with aromas of toast, flint, mineral and lead pencil. There was only light sediment - though I was careful to move the bottle from the cellar and pour through a strainer.
It tasted like toast, flint, mineral, stoniness and molasses. The body was full with a polished texture. The legs were slow and the finish long. It started out with high acidity and sharpness but the tannins smoothed nicely out as the wine decanted.

Popped and poured. Dark inky colour which I discovered at the end of the bottle had thrown a lumpy sediment so should certainly be decanted. Sweet cooked black fruit, blackberry jam. The palate is actually medium bodied despite the nose suggesting something bigger and has an elegant blackberry fruit, good acidity and fine grained tannins. Decent length and uncomplicated.

Very enjoyable bottle. Tannins have mellowed out and fruit is still in ok shape. A food wine.

On 2016-09-15: From memory - still youngish and primary. Some tannic grip. Could probably last a few more years.
