  • This was excellent. Smelled like an old world Bordeaux, and its funky mix of grape varietals made it interesting. Garnet hue, tending towards brick ever so slightly at the edges. On opening, you were hit with a spice aroma. Then the vegetal scents started--green pepper, beans. After about 20 minutes in the glass, it was cassis and herbs all the way. Relatively short finish, mostly spice. You could smell the tiny bit of tempranillo in the aromas. Released in 2002, this still has a lot of freshness and fruit. Wish I'd bought more. Will be interesting to see from others how this wine develops.
