  • Still delicious. Not a tart lemon bombshell like the Les Clos but very enjoyable. More on the creamy lemon with a hint of age side of things. Excellent on its own and with dinner.

  • My third of three bottles of the ‘11 Domaine des Malandes Vaudesir, purchased at auction in January 2022. All three have been superb and consistent, with almost no bottle variation. It’s wines like this that cause California or Aussie-focused white wine drinkers to broader their horizons. As with the two prior bottles, this was medium straw colored, and full bodied, with vibrant and unique creamy lemon/lime flavors. Not even a hint of tertiary flavors or oxidation. I expect that the primary age-related development (not having drunk it in its earlier years) is that the lemon/lime flavors have become less tart and the acidity has softened too. In any case, if I had more of these bottles in (cold) stock, I expect they’d still be drinking well for 5+ years to come.

  • Another wonderful bottle of this 2011 Vaudesir. Full-bodied, with a nose of sweet citrus and flavor of creamy lemon and some pear. Aging very gracefully. No hints of oxidation.

  • Similar to the 2011 Les Clos, this is still drinking beautifully. This though is more “feminine” than the Les Clos, as the Clos packs a huge punch of mouth puckering, concentrated tart lemon/lime. This has similar flavors though is creamier/less tart and has a sublime nose. There was almost no development from day one to day two - a further suggestion that this - like the Les Clos - should continue to drink well for at least another five years.

  • Pure with appropriate fruit . Feminine style. Balanced.
