  • 13% alcohol. The label says "Vignes de Montbrison", nothing about vieilles vignes. Plastic cork. Pale golden colour.
The nose is very engaging with white and yellow flowers; lanolin too. The mouth is nearly as good, with commendable volume and just a hint of fluidity in the finish. Very stylish and a great match for brill.
In perfect condition and looking like it could last another few years too; perfect to drink now though.
Verget is the négociant arm of Guffens-Heynen, and there is a good bit of stylistic commonality between the two labels; less intensity and muscle here than in the G-H Mâcon-Pierreclos lineup, but this might suit some people better.
    A success without a doubt.

  • There is no "vieilles" in the name, it is just Mâcon-Bussières "Vignes de Montbrison".
13% alcohol. Synthetic cork. Clean golden colour. The nose has intense notes of yellow flowers. The mouth is very pleasing too, certainly as good as a minor Côte de Beaune wine, and probably better; gorse cum honey flavours while remaining perfectly dry add up to a winning combination. This wine is in perfect condition. Amazing quality for a Mâcon, and a repeat purchase.
