If you can imagine red cough syrup without the viscosity and cloying sweetness and take it down a few steps, you have a soft elegant red cough syrup, though while interesting is not something I like.

2013 San Francisco Vintners Festival (Fort Mason): dark red in color. blueberry, blackberry, floral, earth, sage, on the nose. espresso, spice, blueberry, blackberry, plum, on the palate. low-medium acid, medium tannins, on the finish.

I found this a bit flat for a Syrah. Maybe I'm more used to Washington Syrah, but this struck me as a bit lifeless. Nice nose, though.
