Pleasantly surprised with this. I'm very familiar with most Whitehall Lane Reserve vintages from the 90s and loved most of them. These are long in the tooth now, and this is the first time I've had the '92. Was surprised at how vibrant and alive the fruit is - nothing faded with the fruit profile really. However, there was too much overt sweetness, like the '95 Leonardini vineyard I recently had. Still, all told, this was quite balanced and composed and after a few hours the last glass had real poise. Still no reason to wait on this and it's not showing as good as it surely once did but a pleasant retrospective and nothing too awry.

Drank very well. Fully mature and not going to get any better. I'd drink up within the next few years. Smoke and cigar along with some diminishing brambly fruit. Tannins have fully integrated. I'd pick up some more if I can find it at $35-40.

1992 California Cabernet Sauvignons (Tom's house in Palo Alto, California): Somewhat shy nose. Smooth palate with dark berries and some oak. Drinking very well right now. Tasted Blind.
My 3rd, group's 3rd.

Stunning! Still strong and vibrant. Lots of depth, great notes of fruit and cocoa. 18yrs and going strong!
