  • The first aromas that really assault you are smelly, earthy, stinky cheese-like. The color on the rim is tan. Good acidity, bright sour cherry flavors, a medium-bodied wine that is still drinking fine. Medium finish and the earthiness adds a complexity in what would otherwise be a more boring wine.

  • A wonderful surprise. Discovered in Majestic wine stores in the UK - would not normally buy it, but they had a bottle open for tasting and was very surprised.
The colour is faded - a brickish colour and on the nose notes of plum, leather and a tiny bit of vanilla.
In the mouth the wine is medium bodied and has an earthiness to it that balances off well against the fruit. Low tannins probably show that this wine really needs to be drunk now. I can image in another 6-12 months it would turn into something a bit too sweet and gloopy. This is no Argentinian blockbuster, just a very well made, elegant wine. Scoring highly because of the price (about £7 - 14 USD)

  • Mini OL of the board in Mendoza, Argentina; 11/3/2005-11/4/2005 (Mendoza, Argentina): The 2002 was rather different, showing less evolution in color and a nose with a little bit of red fruit, cherries and brown spice as well as a bit of leather. In the mouth it is refined with a mid palate concentrated in leather and spice and a long finish and a higher level of tannin. I personally thought the 2000 had more to it.
