Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 91 points

  • Consumed over two nights, and better the first night. For a big boned shiraz, the wine shows well. The nose shows muted blackberry aromas, but the palate shows a dense blackberry and black fruit purity. (The prior TN by Eric accurately calls it blackberry syrup.) Surprisingly, it seemed balanced and integrated, spice, hints of oak, acidity, long sweet black cherry finish. All in all, it's an interesting and fun wine. Second night, the fruit did not impress, but alcohol was hot, the spice muted. Drink up.

  • Seattle Tasting Group does Syrah & Shiraz (Seattle, WA, USA): For whatever reason, 7 of the 8 of us were at a loss for words with this wine, yet it was universally liked (rated 89-92 by everyone with 6 scores of 91 or 92 out of 8 tasters). The nose was like blackberry syrup with some medicinal notes. There was very obvious alcohol and ample tannins on the palate. There was as an almost indescribable spiciness that added a lot to this. I found the finish hot, yet I loved the wine. Hmm.
