  Medium garnet. Interesting leather, ginseng and Chinese medicines aromatics; medium plus bodied, dense sweeping midpalate of red fruits, leather, liquorice and anise, persistent midbodied filigreed tannins, subtle lift on the backend keeps the palate refreshed. Excellent and approachable now, and may be kept for many years yet.

Excellent complexity and feel-black cherry, some tar, even a slight citric lift, round tannins. Not a "wow" wine, but one that shows the ability of this great vintage to lift all boats. Should be in its window of prime drinkability within a few years and last for the better part of a decade after that.

  Best bottle of the '04 yet. Decanted about 3 hours. And it needs it as it was quite boring right out of the bottle. Still good acid and plenty tannins as well. Good mature fruit. I never imagined a barolo from Bovio would/could impress as this one did. Great mature mouthfeel with looong aftertaste. Shame I only have one more left.

  Typical Classical Barolo noise, anis, chocolate, tabac, coffe. The color hints on an age of soon 10 years. In the mouth you find red fruit in nice integration with chocolate, tabac and coffe. Ofcource you have the typical but sandy and well integrated tannins. In summary a good Barolo. Considering its price of €45 at a resturant its in my mind very goid value!!
