Spicy with a lot of oak, one could call it over-oaked. Ripe fruit and dark berries. Lacks adequate acidity, still pleasant finish. Tannins are still quite noticeable. Might benefit from more aging, but lack of acidity, makes me wonder. Was better the second day in decanter with a bit more blown of oak aromas.

Inky, almost black, with some sediment. Blueberry and violet on the nose. Full bodied, a tannic beast, plums, blackberries, dark chocolate, a bit of leather, and a medium to long finish. Needs to be vinturied at least once, or decanted for a week, but worth it.

Not Your Average Varietal (Amy & Scott's): A small pour at a tasting, and drank alongside the regular 2008 Petit. Vanilla oak is pronounced on the nose. Tannic as all hell. A little more rich than the regular, but not by much. Over 3 hours, this did not improve in the glass.

Nose had sweet black currant, earthy notes, and was brooding. Unfortunately, this is a tannic bomb. Needs a lot of time, but I gather this is this case with many single variety petit verdots...

We usually drink this stuff right away when we get our club shipment, but we let this one age for a year here at home. Smoothed out a bit of the brightness and any rough edges. It was absolutely delicious. We'll be waiting a year before drinking the new shipment, I believe. Just delicious.
