  • Pristine bottle, perfect cork and level. A lovely specimen of mature Beaune Premier Cru. Gentle and mature profile, harmonious and complete, warm and fresh, rosehip and forest floor, hint of cheese rind, mineral core, sweet fruit without even a hint of decay, seamless, resolved tannins; complete finish, lovely length, not drying at all. Very good for what it is and really outshines the previous two bottles.

  • Very similar to my previous note, but the texture is a tad more silky and there is just that little bit more charming fruit - and as such the wine warrants an extra point. Very impressive quality at 21 years of age, lively and not drying out, testimony to the energetic quality of its mountainous terroir (above Bressandes) and to the excellent 1993 vintage.

  • Perfect cork, 1.5cm level. Mature but lively appearance; opens up, with some aeration, to a slightly discreet, fresh and transparent nose with rosehip, minerals, a touch of oak and some nutty evolution; on the palate slender but not too dry, fresh and lively, with good 1993 tannic grip; adequate length, cold tea. Mature, lively, still drinking well but will dry out. Drink now.
