  • Opened for an hour and it is doing quite well. Healthy cork. Crimson ruby color, about 70% saturated with maybe a slight fade but no sediment.
Mushroom soup, blueberry pancakes, flower shop - actually, a full arboretum of florals on the nose. Palate is resolved but not advanced, with lovely raspberry and cherry notes with a mellifluous blend of spices behind it. The endurance and length really seemed to ebb and flow over a few hours, but I eventually found it easy to conclude that Grand Cru is known as such for a reason ;)
Always a certain amount of hesitation when opening a MI. This bottle has all the magic I had hoped for. Should I feel guilty about consuming alone? (That's a rhetorical question)

  • We had the 11 Chambertin last night, so decided to try the 12 tonight. Not as accessible as the 11, and struck us as a good wine, but still very young.
