Blueberries, blackberries, earth, cassis, a hint of strawberry, smoke, ink, caramel, and some light floral elements on the nose. Blackberry jam, cassis, tart cherry, ink, and earth on the palate. Juicy acidity, slightly grippy tannins, solid finish. Delicious. Overall, this was a really well-made and delicious wine. There's a touch of sweetness that's pretty irresistible, but it's nicely balanced with acidity and tannin.

Surprisingly ready to drink with some air. Fairly complete, well balanced, red and blue fruits, medium tannin, hints of vanilla/caramel, and the structure to pair well with red meat. Quite nice, especially at the mystery wine price.

From VSJ: This earthy and very dark in color wine offers a heavy, chewy style. There are aromas of blackberry, tobacco, tar and autumn leaves. The mouth demonstrates blackberry, black pepper, truffle and oak. This is a great wine to pair with a protein rich meal and heavy game dishes. J's notes: very dark, needs a lot of decanting.

Black-purple in glass, rich aromas of black fruits, campfire and baking pies. Explosive in palate with emphasis on blackcurrant and cassis, rich but not cloying intensity framed in sweet but grippy tannins, leaves with a long and lip-smacking finish. Has legs for years, but exceptional now. Outstanding.
