  • Tasted blind. This had a bit of VA on the nose that never really disappeared but got much better with air. Notes of berries, underwood, and some dusty cellar flavors on the nose. Good acidity with red berries and tart fruit on the palate. Quite a bit richer and riper than the nose suggests. Good finish, which got better with air. Quite nice!

  • Let sit vertical for a day then double-decanted off significant sediment an hour or so before a party. Cork came out easily but in two pieces. Color is a dark garnet with clear edges. Slight vinegar aroma during decant that seemed to blow off by the time the bottle was re-opened. Pure red fruits and strong acidity holding this together and remarkably seemed to gain complexity over the couple hours it took for this bottle to disappear. Good showing for this old geezer.

  • RUBY RED COLOR. DEEP DRIED FRUITS IN THE NOSE, PLUMS, ALONG WITH RASPBERRIES AND CHOCOLATE. FLAVOR LIKE THE NOSE, DEEP BERRY FRUIT AND LICORICE. MEDIUM TO LONG FINISH.
