  - Garnet color - I can't believe it. Opened this bottle expecting to drain it down the sink BUT wait a minute, this bottle was still alive! Almost 30 years old, the Pinot was extremely drinkable despite the completely saturated cork. Colour was on off garnet, nose flat (no surprise for its age) but the complex flavours had great length and an incredible dry, crisp finish. Who would have thought! A refined finish with subtle flavours of earthy, thin but fine fruitiness. Pity I didn't knock off one of those ducks on my pond tonight to enjoy with this little gem, the BBQ steak was just fine with it.
