4 hour decant. 14%. Well J. Portugal Ramos produce some most excellent wines - this, however, is not one of them - deep purple - tight nose - lots of heat and some sour in the mouth overpowering some nice fruit flavours - pretty rough and hot again in the stomach. Around 10 euros is a hugely competitive space here in Portugal, and there are a lot better than this to be had.

Sweet strawberry and kirsch fruit on the nose, a touch of old oak, flabby profile. Sweet stewed fruit on the palate, soupy, unintegrated alcohol, bitter tannin. This is disappointing. Heavy set, in poor shape.

Dark bluered colour.
Youthful with austere tannines. Cherry fruit.
