Hazy deep garnet color. Powerful aromas of smoke, tar, lavender and black olive. Off dry with a medium body. Crisp acidity with medium tannins. Fair balance. Moderate flavors of jam, cedar and black cherry. Not bad.

This was my second bottle of this Barossa Shiraz, but the first was way back in March 2015. From my review then: "I'm generally not a huge fan of Australian Shiraz, what with its overripe, overwrought, commercially-driven, in-your-face tendencies, but with its burst of black pepper spice, savoury meaty-earthy-herbal elements (plus a hint of salt on the finish), rich purple fruit, and touch of funkiness, this expression from Dandelion actually seems more like a Syrah-based blend from the southern Rhône than your typical Shiraz from Down Under, and that's very much to its credit. It's still big and bold and obvious, the fruit (cassis, blackberry, blueberry) quite ripe, the wood noticeably present if not domineering, but it's admirably restrained and interesting, with even the initial odd band aid note evaporating with time."
It's still very much a Rhône-style Syrah, perhaps even more so given that there's less noticeable oak. Still, there's quite a bit of heat on the finish (14.5%), and it's a bit thick and soupy, with heavy meatiness, touches of herbs and spice, and pronounced funkiness amidst the ripe purple fruit. Very good Aussie Shiraz, with a slight improvement from aging (better overall integration, not as "big and bold"), 88 then and now in the 88-89 range.

Horrible! Sweet as the sweetened bag-in-box that are so popular here in Sweden. Not at all what I expected from all the other TNs. Had a .375.
