Gifted to me when I worked at CH. Probably should hsvd pulled the cork earlier. However, still has the fredhness and lightness I look for in a BDM. Blackberry is the main flavor component. Tannins are rounded and just come in st at the end to put a fine point on it. Elegant, balanced and somehow relaxed. Finish is medium+ and ultimately not that complex. Still, a nice bottle and thanks ACE for the gift.

Interesting. I reviewed this wine twice and my reviews have disappeared from cellartracker. It doesnt even show up in my tasting notes! In any case, I tried it several times, the last prior to this was in 2020 and it was lovely. (I keep it in a temp and humidity controlled storage.) Just tasted it now and it is over the hill. Last bottle. Alcohol and not much else, Fruit is gone. But I am scoring it from the prior tasting.

Very old world Italian. Earthy nose, smells of forest floor and leather. Faint cherry fruit. This does not appear to be manipulated, a wonderful example of a brunello. Opens up beautifully after a decant.

Wow, I’m glad I held this a few years. Roasted beet color. Candied cherry, briary fruits, a hint of prunes and leather with plenty of soft grip from mid palate through finish.

Odd cork, lightly colored even though have laid down over a year before trying, decanted 1 hr, translucent brick color, big earthy nose, med mouthfeel, long finish with some grip/oak, not sure how to explain late funk, OK QPR at $27 sale price.
