At its peak. Tannins (commented on previously) are resolved. A rich, dark cherry flavor and mild viscosity (practically syrupy). Some tobacco notes. Not especially complex, but a satisfying Gigonda that shows off the grenache grape, which INHO is much less edgy than syrah.

Surprise surprise! This wine showed very well. Sweet, structure red fruits and that classic sweet cedar cigar box. Never sure how these higher alcohol wines will hold up. These has done well; though I'd say drink up.

Fun wine with a lot to think about. Spot on Gigondas, pretty reduced raspberry, cigar box, and slight mushroom. Reasonably balanced toward the juicy fruity side of the spectrum. Somewhat unharmonious and an unfortunate lingering chalky bitterness in the finish. At 14.5% I don't see the wine coming together any further.

A pleasant drink. Nice Southern Rhone character. Good QPR. Would buy again at this price.

Definitely very tannic. I think this needs a few years. The rating of 88 is based on potential not in its present condition.
