Although it's the best Pommard I have tasted, it''s under the shadow from two fine white that day. The color is medium ruby red (it is rare that there is no pomegranate red at this age), and the aroma is strawberry, hawthorn, cherry, covered plate, red cherry, blackcurrant, vanilla, cream, and earth. middle tannin, medium roughness, high acidity, easy-made wine, surplus last 10s.

The frustration of burgundy that hasn't yet fully arrived... Still closed up tight. The youthful fruit has been replaced with more dried/aged flavors and aromas but at this point it is fairly one-note and the aromatic complexity hasn't blossomed yet. I will drink my next bottle in another 2-3 years but that's based on my guess that this wine is just on the cusp of opening up.

VIP Burgundy Tasting (The Wine Club, San Francisco): Rich dense nose with almost licorice, black fruit, slight menthol; palate is light but with good fruit density; medium finish. This is enjoyable and nice, but I'm not sure this is representative of Pommard. 90
