  • This is an impeccably well made bottle of burgundy. Highly extracted without being overdone. Really fine balance and length. Red fruit dominates with a bit of earth. The shortcoming of the wine is the fruit quality - quite dull rather than bright. Not the first 1990 I have seen this in. Taste this wine against the 1985 Charles Mortet Chambertin and you will get the point. They are both well made, but the 1985 has a bright almost quaffy fruit quality to it, while the 1990 in comparison is simply dull in terms of fruit quality.
