Enjoying this. Garnet. Capsicum and cherry. Some herbality on sniff but taste-wise not much interesting crops up. Everything in equal parts. Nice finish.

Not bad. Commercial yes but enough genuine varietal interest to provide some interest. Lovely herbal fruits on the nose don't translate but hard to penalise at the price. Another year left.

A friend bought it it at a restaurant. Overall conclusion is that it is pleasant but not memorable in any way. Relatively dark, fresh wine with a nose of a young Cab S. Flavors of dark fruit but with little if any resolution. Tannins are pretty well integrated for such a young Cab. Unfortunately it was way over priced for what it is and its cost. I went along with buying it because of good luck with other Penfolds. Drink now. I will not acquire any for my cellar! A nice cooking wine however - or for reducing to an Essence of Cabernet.

compare to previous vintages, Penfolds logo on label is moved from top to bottom and much smaller. obviously it's targeting commercial table wine market and just avoid confusing with Penfolds' other serious product lines, some of them standing on world's top level.
semi-transparent red-purple colour, medium leg. dark fruits (black currant, black berries) and herbals in nose, medium(+) body, simple structure, warm, mild tannin backbone with fruity flavours in background, slight oak and dust hints, well balanced. medium spicy finish. as single CS variety, it's very easy drinking with straight friendly flavour, even not bad to any serious taster.
